These are the World Series cards manufactured by Fleer in 1968 and designed by R. G. Laughlin. I am collecting ONLY the ones with BLUE writing on the back, not those with GREY writing. (someone has mentioned that the grey backs were from the NEXT years series--I do not know for certain) The numbers I want are as follows: #1; #3; #8; #9; #15; #25; #29; #44; #57; #58 & #59.

A year or two or 20 ago I was at a loss for something to collect. Collecting sets prior to 1970 was a bit more than prohibitively expensive. I had collected small sets of AS, World series subsets, the 62 (?) Ruth collection---many oddball subsets prior to 1970. I had just acquired the 52 Pafko (it isn't perfect, but it has no bulletholes, creases, ink stains or other major problems) and I thought --"Aha!!!!!!! 1st and last would be neat." And I thought this too----right up till I looked in a price guide and saw how many times Teddy Ballgame showed up as 1st or last or some of his expensive brethren were there as well. So I thought--"Why not manager's cards?" And history was made!!!!!! Only to work out the details. Prior to '60, they are mainly coaches cards, The following are managers cards that I need from the years 1960 to 1980: (I know, that makes them all vintage, but this is what I want) The prices are for mint cards, taken from the 2005 Beckett Price Guide. These cards do not have to be mint (as a matter of fact, I would prefer them with some minor flaw so that they would be cheaper), but please no bulletholes, creases or other major problems.
